Ana de Armas looks like a schoolgirl in a button-down sweater and miniskirt as she talks to Blonde


It’s certainly been a busy week for this Cuban actress as she promotes her new movie that focuses on the life of Hollywood blonde bombshell Marilyn Monroe.

On Tuesday afternoon, brunette beauty Ana de Armas was spotted attending the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Talks: Blonde where she talked about the film that promises to take an honest look at the Gentlemen Prefer Blondes actress. The event was held at the Robin Williams Center of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation in New York City.

This came after the star told AnOther magazine that he asked Marilyn Monroe for “permission” to play her when he visits her grave in Los Angeles.

Ana opted for a more demure look with a baby blue round neck top.

The knitted jumper had a beige lace lined collar with three white buttons down the front and a sweet black bow at the top.

She added a black mini skirt that revealed her toned and slim legs. Black shoes and white socks finished off her look.

The girl wore her dark hair in soft waves and had lip gloss.

The film is based on the novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates and will be released on September 28.

He also spoke with her on Tuesday Another magazinesharing that he asked Monroe for permission to play her.

“We got this big card and all the crew members wrote him a message. Then we went to the cemetery and put him on his grave,” she said. “In a way we were asking for permission. Everyone felt a great responsibility and we were very aware of the side of the story we were going to tell: the story of Norma Jeane, the person behind this character, Marilyn Monroe. Who was she really?

He also said that Blonde uses real incidents, but tries to fill in the moments between what is known in the public record.

“It’s about the things we haven’t seen, the moments when the cameras don’t blink or move, when Marilyn isn’t ‘on,'” said the Cuban beauty. ‘It’s fiction. We have no evidence that this happened. But it fills in the gaps of what we already know with a version of the facts that we should at least consider.’

The Knives Out star admitted she didn’t seem like the likely candidate to be cast when she auditioned for the role of one of the world’s most famous women.

“But of course I went there, because I love challenges, and I knew that emotionally I could get there,” he explained.

“I didn’t know if the hair, the makeup would do it, but I understood what we meant. Andrew called me after the audition and said, ‘It’s you. It has to be you.” But then we had to convince everyone else.

The Gray Man actor’s Cuban accent would have traditionally kept him out of the job, but a voice coach was hired to help her learn to speak like Marilyn.

“Marilyn’s voice, her expressions, were a result of the speech lessons she took herself, of her insecurities, of not having boundaries and letting people in, of playing this role of having to be rescued all the time.”

By studying the star, Ana learned to share her vulnerability.

“So I had to know what he was thinking and feeling every time. Because the way he rounded his lips for the ‘O’s, or how much of his lower teeth would show, what his eyebrows did, all these expressions were a a consequence of Marilyn being in survival mode.These were tricks she was doing in desperate circumstances.

It comes after last week she said she broke down in tears after her film Blonde received a 14-minute standing ovation after its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in Italy.

The No Time to Die star plays late film icon Marilyn Monroe in the new film about her life, which premiered at the festival on Thursday (09.08.22) to a rapturous response of the audience that applauded for more than a year. 10 minutes while the movie star cried.

According to Variety.com, Ana’s co-star Adrien Brody, who plays Marilyn’s third husband Arthur Miller, also shed a few tears as the theater erupted in applause.

Ana spent nine months working with a voice coach to try to perfect Marilyn’s accent, and she recently told The Times it was a tiring process.

She said: “It took me nine months of dialect training, practice and some ADR sessions [to get the accent right]. It was great torture, so exhausting. My brain was fried.

After the trailer for the new film was released, there was some criticism of Ana’s accent online and the actress spoke out to defend her performance.

The actress, who only learned to speak English in 2015, said: “I feel like whether you’re a Cuban actress or an American actress, anyone should feel the pressure.

‘My job was not to imitate her. I was interested in his feelings, his journey, his insecurities and his voice, in the sense that he really didn’t have one.’
