A group of 20 members of the Heritage High FFA club had a very successful trip to Sacramento last weekend for the annual State Leadership Convention.

Sophie Rodriguez won the California State Pig Placement Proficiency Award for her work as a farmhand at Heritage Farm for the past four years. He also received a $2,000 scholarship and will represent California at the national level.

Landon Hendricks was elected California FFA State Vice President during an onstage ceremony in front of more than 5,500 students at the Sacramento Golden One Center. It was the first time Heritage FFA has had a student elected to a state officer position.
