The Queen has been pictured using her late husband’s cane at their Sandringham estate in a sweet tribute to Prince Philiphas arisen
Photos of a tea party Her Majesty hosted a spectacle of the 95-year-old monarch walking with the aid of a distinctive staff with a carved horn handle in the ballroom of her Norfolk residence on Saturday.
Author and broadcaster Gyles Brandreth spotted the Queen wielding the Duke of Edinburgh’s favorite cane, which he used regularly while managing the Sandringham estate.

he said The Telegraph: “I recognized the stick instantly as it was always kept in a pot by the front door. It was the Duke’s stick and it’s very touching that the Queen has started using it.”
Prince Philip was last photographed with the aid when he visited a nearby nature reserve after undergoing abdominal surgery in 2013.
Palace aides said at the time that he needed the stick only to help maneuver around the mud in Dersingham Bog.

The Duke died aged 99 on 9 April 2021 at Windsor Castle, and his funeral took place at St George’s Chapel. He and the Queen were married for 73 years and shared four children, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Her Majesty has since welcomed two more great-grandchildren into the family: the Duke and Duchess of Sussexthe second son Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsori Princess Beatrice i Edoardo Mapelli MozziSienna’s daughter Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi.
In October 2021, the Queen was photographed with a cane for the first time in 17 years since she was accompanied by her daughter, la Princess Royalat a service of thanksgiving to mark the centenary of the Royal British Legion (RBL) at Westminster Abbey.
She was last seen using a walking aid in 2003, but that was after surgery to remove torn cartilage from her right knee.

Her Majesty returned to Windsor Castle on Monday after celebrating her platinum jubilee on February 6.
He will resume his usual duties of hearings, credentials and privy council meetings, continuing to mix both virtual and in-person events.
HELLO! It is also understood that the Queen expects to attend the Diplomatic Reception at Windsor Castle on March 2, the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey on March 14 and a service of thanksgiving for the life of the Duke of Edinburgh at Westminster Abbey on 29th March.
